The Lab Middle School Direct Appeal is our singular, most important fundraiser. The Direct Appeal is the lifeline that allows Lab Middle to offer the extensive afterschool programs and fund the necessary expenses that make our school the vibrant community that it is. Without your continued support, these programs cannot not exist!

Discipline

Lab Middle School follows the DOE Discipline Code, disseminated to all students in September. It is expected that families review the Code with their children. The Dean of Students x3293 handles all disciplinary action at Lab. Lab also follows an Honor Code. The following are several ways discipline issues are handled at Lab.

Phone Call / Letter Home

Most disciplinary actions involve notifying a parent (via a phone call or a letter home) to inform about an incident or behavior-related issue.

Captive Lunch

A child is not allowed to go out to lunch, nor may that child eat in the cafeteria or have choice time. Instead, the child has lunch within the Dean’s office, where the child is not allowed to speak for 40 minutes to anyone except the Dean.

Suspension

The child is suspended from attending classes, but given classwork during the day and monitored by the Dean.

Superintendant Suspension

For major discipline issues a judicial process is followed that includes a formal hearing.

ADMISSIONS 2012

Lab MS Admissions Exam will be held Saturday, February 4, 2012.

Specific testing information including, time, make-up dates, etc will be communicated next week through our website and your elementary school.
