Help support your child's school!
Please CONTRIBUTE to help us reach our fundraising goal of 100% participation from our families.
The Lab Middle School Direct Appeal is our singular, most important fundraiser. The Direct Appeal is the lifeline that allows Lab Middle to offer the extensive afterschool programs and fund the necessary expenses that make our school the vibrant community that it is. Without your continued support, these programs cannot not exist!

The Grand Harmony Restaurant was filled to capacity last Thursday, February 10, 2011, as Lab HS and MS celebrated the Lunar New Year together. The event was a great success - both because it built tremendous community spirit, and because it raised $$ for our kids.

The restaurant, taken over completely with Labbies and families, served up a scrumptious 10-course banquet. We honored Assistant Chief Thomas Chan, Commanding Officer of the School Safety Division of the New York Police Department.

Chan said Lab was NOT one of the schools on his radar list, which is a good thing! He acknowledged the academic excellence of both the middle school and high school. He was also impressed by the turnout and stayed for the entire event.

Students from both schools enjoyed hanging out at the student-only tables. They were laughing, bonding and having a great time.
We enjoyed the performances by the middle school and high school students, the karate demonstration and of course the Lion Dance performance.

Labbies were feeding the Lions lucky pockets that contained money. All the proceeds went directly to support both schools. The event raised more than $10,000 and we're not finished tallying it all up yet!

Feeding the Lion
It was a lucky event for all, especially those who went home with the raffle prizes - an iPad, Kindle, Flip and iPod Nano! As Principal Meg Adams said in her blog: "It was an amazing event - put on by Lab MS and Lab HS parents' associations. Thank you to Cecilia Leong for all of her work in taking this event on!"
Cecilia could not have done it without a team of volunteers who made the event possible. A special thanks to Caroline Eichman, Igor Lamser, Nanette Ross, Chi-Fong Lei, Laura Ng and our alum parent Josephine Wan, the co-chair for last year's event. A special shout out to Jonathan Levine, Harry Pincus and Amy Sewall for their photography which is featured here.
We hope to see you all next year, the Year of the Dragon!
